Ransomware is growing and diversifying, making it increasingly difficult to defend against, according to new research from Elastic. The study analysed over a billion data points from the past year, and found that over half of all observed malware attacks targeted Linux systems. Moreover, nearly every attack on cloud infrastructure began with credential theft. The most prevalent ransomware families were BlackCat, Conti, Hive, Sodinokibi, and Stop.
