Ransomware gang targets critical Progress WS_FTP Server bug

Cyber criminals have attempted to exploit a critical flaw in Progress Software’s WS_FTP Server, leading to unsuccessful ransomware activity, according to security firm Sophos. The flaw has a CVSS rating of 10, the highest possible, and was patched by Progress in September, but many servers remain unpatched. Sophos attributes the activity to a cyber crime group called Reichsadler.
