Ransomware developer who targeted healthcare extradited to U.S.

Rostislav Panev, a dual Russian-Israeli national, was extradited to the U.S. for his role as a developer in the LockBit ransomware group, responsible for over 2,500 attacks worldwide, including 1,800 in the U.S. LockBit has reportedly extorted over $500 million in ransom, causing significant financial losses. Panev admitted to coding and maintaining the ransomware.
