The ransomware attack on lab services provider Synnovis in 2024 cost the company over seven times its most recent annual profit. Russian-speaking cyber group Qilin claimed responsibility for the attack, which led to one of the NHS’s biggest data breaches and disrupted operations at several London hospitals. The estimated cost was £32.7m, significantly more than Synnovis’s profits of £4.3m for 2023.
