Ransomware Attacks on Heath Sector Hits Four Year Highs

Sophos’ 2024 report reveals that ransomware attacks on healthcare organizations have surged to a four-year high, affecting 67% of organizations. Recovery times have worsened, with only 22% recovering within a week. The average recovery cost rose to $2.57 million, and backups were targeted in 95% of attacks. Compromised credentials and vulnerabilities are the leading attack causes.
