The Queensland state government has pledged $18 million to add emergency care services to the Queensland Virtual Hospital. The service caters to non-life-threatening emergencies. The Queensland Telestroke Service will also be integrated with the Virtual Hospital. My Emergency Doctor, a virtual emergency care platform, will now feature interoperability, enabling virtual ward consultations, exchanging vital patient data through existing HL7 messaging standards. In another development, New South Wales is also trialling body cameras in public hospitals to deter violence against staff.
