Qld gov introduces data breach notification legislation – Security

Queensland has introduced a compulsory data breach notification scheme, making it the second Australian state to do so, almost a year-and-a-half after it was first suggested for implementation by the Coaldrake review. The bill ensures government agencies report data breaches in a timely and structured manner, empowering individuals to take suitable steps to reduce harm.
