The service is part of an expanded offering by Qilin which positions itself as a full-service digital crime platform. The group has seen considerable growth, with the demise of competing ransomware groups. The new features aim to make Qilin a comprehensive cybercrime service, rather than a pure ransomware outfit.
Meta to Permanently Remove End-to-End Encryption Feature in Instagram DMs
Meta has confirmed it will permanently remove end-to-end encryption (E2EE) support from Instagram direct messages, with the feature officially shutting down after May 8, 2026.
