A multinational law enforcement operation, headed by the FBI, has disabled Qakbot, one of the world’s most notorious botnets. The malware has been removed from 700,000 computers and $8.6 million in cryptocurrency belonging to the group behind Qakbot has been seized. The botnet has reportedly caused hundreds of millions of dollars in losses since its creation in 2008, impacting 11% of corporate networks worldwide in the first half of 2023 alone.
