PwC and Zyter Collaborate to Deploy AI Execution Platform for Healthcare Payers and Providers

What You Should Know

Professional services firm PwC and digital health company Zyter announced a strategic collaboration targeting Total Cost of Care (TCOC) management for healthcare payers and providers. The alliance pairs PwC’s healthcare consulting, operations, and transformation capabilities with Zyter|TruCare’s Vertical AI Execution Platform, agentic AI orchestration engine (Zyter Symphony), and clinical services. The operational scope focuses on core administrative and clinical workflows, including utilization management, care management, appeals and grievances, and care coordination. The partnership aims to resolve rising medical expenses, workforce constraints, and fragmented data by embedding governed, auditable, and API-native AI into daily operational workflows.Executive leadership for the initiative includes Thom Bales (National Health Services Advisory Leader, PwC US) and Sundar Subramanian (CEO, Zyter).

PwC and Zyter Team Up to Redesign Total Cost of Care Execution

PwC US and Zyter have launched a strategic collaboration targeting one of the most stubborn friction points in enterprise healthcare: the gap between technology modernization and total cost of care (TCOC) reduction. The alliance pairs PwC’s healthcare transformation practice with Zyter|TruCare’s vertical AI execution platform to convert enterprise software investments into governed operational execution.

The joint initiative addresses a systemic structural challenge for payers and risk-bearing provider organizations. Despite billions spent upgrading legacy enterprise systems, rising medical expenses, administrative overhead, and workforce shortages continue to compress margins. Implementing modern cloud databases or point solutions without fundamentally restructuring clinical and administrative workflows leaves organizations executing utilization management, care coordination, and appeals through manual, reactive processes.

Vertical AI Execution, Agentic Orchestration, and Governed Workflows

The collaboration pairs business process redesign with agentic orchestration:

Zyter Symphony & Praxis Orchestration: Operates as a vertical AI execution plane that sits across legacy systems of record (claims, EHR, CRM). The software automates complex multi-system workflows—such as prior authorization review, care management triage, and appeals processing—enforcing policy guidelines and maintaining decision auditability.Modular API Integration: Connects natively into existing payer and provider transactional cores (including Zyter’s TruCare foundation or third-party platforms) to capture real-time clinical and financial data.PwC Transformation Execution: Provides operational assessments, operating model redesign, analytics governance, and change management to ensure workflow automation maps directly to quantifiable medical and administrative cost reductions.

By shifting focus from static software implementations to live workflow execution, the partnership enables health plans and health systems to transition away from high-friction, manual utilization management toward proactive, policy-compliant automation.

“Healthcare organizations are under intense pressure to improve outcomes while reducing total cost of care, and that requires more than technology implementation,” said Thom Bales, National Health Services Advisory Leader at PwC US. “Working with Zyter|TruCare, we can help health organizations redesign operating models, embed governed AI into clinical and administrative workflows, and turn transformation programs into measurable performance improvement.”
