UK Deputy Prime Minister, Oliver Dowden, has warned of the threat posed by cyber criminals, operating with the approval of Russia, Iran and North Korea, to the UK’s critical national infrastructure. Security consultant, Martin Riley of Bridewell, supports Dowden’s concerns, stating that a ransomware attack could have devastating consequences. He emphasises the importance of investing in cyber security and advancing from a reactive to a proactive stance against these threats.
