Criminal gangs, potentially sanctioned by Russia, Iran, and North Korea, could attack the UK’s critical infrastructure, warns security consultant Martin Riley. These cyber-attacks could impact public safety and potentially result in a loss of life. Riley noted that these attacks are often highly sophisticated, utilising AI and various methods to breach systems. He stressed the importance of cyber resilience and understanding specific risks. Recent study shows 65% of key organisations had decreased their cyber defense budgets in 2022-23.
