Public health scholars ask HHS to reject Georgia Medicaid work requirement extension

Public health scholars have implored the Health and Human Services (HHS) department to deny Georgia’s request to carry on its Medicaid work requirements policy due to the damage it inflicts on patients and providers, and the financial strain it puts on the state. Ohio, Arizona, and Arkansas states have also requested to implement work requirements to their Medicaid programs, despite many researchers arguing the policy is expensive and results in loss of coverage because of red tape.
