Pro-Hamas Hacktivists Targeting Israeli Entities with Wiper Malware

A pro-Hamas hacktivist group has been using a new Linux-based malware called BiBi-Linux Wiper to target Israeli entities during the ongoing Israeli-Hamas conflict. The malware is capable of multithreading to corrupt multiple files at once, overwriting and renaming them with an extension containing the string ‘BiBi’, as well as excluding certain file types from corruption. Researchers have identified the suspected threat actor as Arid Viper, likely organized into two sub-groups focused on cyber espionage activities against both Israel and Palestine.
