Privacy organisations raise concerns about Amazon’s use of NHS data

Privacy campaigners have raised concerns about a deal between Amazon and the UK Department of Health and Social Care, which allows Amazon to use NHS data for free. The contract gives Amazon access to healthcare information on the NHS website, raising questions about the competition regulation of dominant players in the digital era. The Information Commissioner’s Office is assessing claims that UK health websites share sensitive data with third-party companies, including Amazon. Amazon and the NHS maintain that patient data is not being provided to the company.
