Primary Health Care, based in Iowa, has informed patients that a hacker gained access to four employee email accounts. The breach occurred over one day, starting on February 28, 2017. The company blocked access to the accounts upon detection and hired a forensic investigator to determine the extent of the breach. The affected accounts contained sensitive patient information, and the number of impacted patients is currently unknown. Primary Health Care is now working to enhance its security measures and is offering victims one year of free credit monitoring.
