Pre-Installed Malware on Cheap Android Phones Steals Crypto via Fake WhatsApp

Researchers at Doctor Web have discovered malware embedded in the software of certain Android phones, targeting cryptocurrency transactions done via popular apps such as WhatsApp and Telegram. The malware alters the recipient wallet addresses to the attacker’s own while displaying the correct address on the user’s screen. The experts have advised caution against unverified android sellers, especially those with prices that seem too good to be true.
