Educational software company PowerSchool is facing at least 23 lawsuits related to a massive data breach that exposed the personal details of students and faculty. Investigators suggest the breach was due to compromised credentials used to access PowerSchool’s PowerSource support tool. Some schools have criticised PowerSchool for failing to secure this portal with multi-factor authentication and have questioned the retention of data on former students and faculty. PowerSchool is currently conducting an ongoing investigation.
