PowerSchool data breach: what to know

Several school boards across the Greater Toronto Area and globally had their data breached, potentially exposing staff and students’ personal and sensitive information. The breach occurred on the PowerSchool application, used by many school boards to store information. The hackers gained access through compromised credentials on PowerSource. The affected data primarily included names and addresses, and in some cases social security details and limited medical and grade information.
