PowerSchool breach exposed special education status, mental health data and parent restraining orders

Sensitive student data of 62.4 million students and 9.5 million teachers were reportedly exposed in a recent hack on educational software company PowerSchool. The leak compromised personal information, including special education status, health and disciplinary details. PowerSchool confirmed 6,500 out of over 18,000 clients were affected by the hack and it is yet to reveal the exact number of individuals impacted by the breach.
