Polling Insight: Republican Women Voters on Abortion

The Republican Party has softened its stance on abortion in its draft party platform, the first time in 40 years it does not call for a federal abortion ban. While most Republican women voters identify as pro-life, many favour laws allowing abortions in certain circumstances. Abortion is not a key voting issue for many Republican women, with inflation and immigration considered more important. The Party’s overall stance, seen as anti-abortion, may be alienating some voters.
