Cybersecurity researchers have identified a new malware known as PLAYFULGHOST, which bears similarities to the Gh0st RAT tool. The malware has numerous data-gathering features, including keylogging and screen capture, and infections have primarily been carried out through phishing emails and via trojanized versions of legitimate VPN applications. The way the malware is propagated suggests that Chinese-speaking Windows users could be the primary targets.
