Physicians have experienced slower pay growth amid economic uncertainty, according to Medscape. The firm’s survey of over 7,000 doctors across 29 specialties shows a 3.6% average compensation increase, the lowest rate since 2011. Pay gains for primary care physicians and specialists were 1.4% and 1%, respectively. The survey revealed that 53% of physicians feel underpaid, though 71% said their compensation covers living expenses, debt and retirement savings.
