Personal data possibly compromised in SKT hack, 2nd report finds

Following an investigation into last month’s SK Telecom (SKT) hacking incident, the Ministry of Science and ICT has revealed that users’ personal information may have been leaked, including potentially compromised international mobile equipment identity (IMEI) numbers. The quantity of leaked SIM data equates to nearly the same number as SKT’s total subscribers. In-depth investigations are continuing to establish whether more sensitive personal data was leaked between the dates of the malware’s installation and its detection.
