A new poll shows that large majorities of Americans are concerned about the security of their electronic health records (EHRs) and believe that their doctors have not adequately explained the switch to digital records. The survey suggests that physicians need to do a better job educating patients about the implications of digitized health information. While some Americans see benefits to EHRs, such as reducing healthcare costs and improving service quality, only 32 percent of patients want their medical records to be digital.
