Patients don’t understand use of AI in health care, and many don’t trust it

Almost all (80%) patients are unaware if their doctor uses artificial intelligence (AI) in their practice and three quarters distrust AI in healthcare, according to a poll by health data management company Carta Healthcare and Propeller Insights. Some 49% of patients felt comfortable with their physician using AI, while 51% preferred they didn’t. Use of AI was perceived to put personal health data at risk by 63% of patients.
