In medicine, patients are often seen as recipients of care rather than contributors to it. But their lived experiences bring something data alone cannot: context, meaning, and truth. Early in my exposure to clinical research, I understood it primarily through a quantitative lens. Outcomes were measured in numbers: complication rates, recovery times, and statistical significance.
