Patient data stolen in ransomware attack affecting millions of healthcare victims

A ransomware attack and data breach on ESO Solutions, a software provider for American hospitals and emergency services, may have compromised the personal information of 2.7 million patients in the US. Details stolen in the breach, which came to light in September, could include names, birth dates, medical records and social security numbers. While no threat actor has claimed responsibility, patients have been warned of the risk their data could be used in phishing attacks.
