Alder Hey Children’s Hospital’s shared system data with Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust was stolen and published online by a cybercrime group called INC Ransom. The hospital is working with the National Crime Agency to determine the potential impact, tighten security and fulfil its legal responsibilities about patient data. Despite this incident, patient services have remained unaffected. The data breach reported earlier at Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was not related to this case.
