Password Warning As 2.1 Billion Credentials Hit By Infostealer Attacks

In 2024, 3.2 billion credentials were stolen, with 75% of them linked to infostealer malware attacks, according to a report from threat intelligence specialists Flashpoint. This shows the increasing threat of infostealer malware, with the most deployed variants in 2024 being Redline, RisePro, SteaC, Lumma Stealer, and Meta Stealer. Strong passwords and two-factor authentication are recommended to mitigate this risk.
