Parkland Health in Dallas has reported a breach of cybersecurity in which the data of 6,523 patients were compromised. Parkland said that it is investigating the issue. It is thought that Medicaid is a frequent target for fraudsters who use stolen medical information to gain illicit access. It is estimated that Medicaid fraud results in losses of $60bn a year.
