Oxford University professor warns of cyber attacks on NHS

Over 6,000 appointments and procedures were delayed at London hospitals due to a ransomware attack in June. Data stolen in the attack on Synnovis, a pathology services provider, was published online, with no evidence of the entire database being published. Outdated IT systems and inadequate security practices were suggested as vulnerabilities exploited by the attack. Urgent and emergency services were unaffected.
