An Indian dairy businessman lost all of his savings after being duped into downloading a mobile banking application, which was embedded with a sophisticated malware called FatBoyPanel. The malware poses as legitimate applications or officials, and once installed, it gains access to sensitive data and one-time passwords to make unauthorized transactions. FatBoyPanel targets Indian users and has been found in nearly 900 applications. Experts suggest avoiding sideloading APKs, using real-time threat detection software, and verifying app sources to safeguard against such frauds.
