Pakistan’s National Cyber Emergency Response Team (PKCERT) has warned that data for over 180 million internet users has been stolen in a global breach. The compromised information, including usernames, passwords, and emails linked to global services, banking institutions, and government portals, was found in an unprotected, unencrypted file. PKCERT advised users to change passwords, use multifactor authentication, and consider using a password manager. The team had previously noted data leaks from the National Database and Registration Authority.
