Picus Security reported that 40% of tested environments allowed a route to the highest-level admin access, comparable to a “master key”. Their study of over 136 million cyber attacks found that despite organizations preventing 70% of attacks, gaps in threat exposure management permit attackers to move through networks. They suggested the need for an “assume breach” approach and proactive measures to ensure breaches can be better managed when occurring. Their study also showed that MacOS systems are less secure compared to Windows and Linux systems.
