UnitedHealth Group has named Sandeep Dadlani as CEO of Optum Insight, the company’s data and analytics arm.
“AI is the most important technology of our lifetime. Healthcare is the most important use case,” Mr. Dadlani wrote on Linkedin on Sept. 18. “Optum Insight is at the intersection of AI and Healthcare. I believe we have the brightest minds and best AI talent to seize this pivotal moment.”Since 2022, he has served as UnitedHealth’s chief digital and technology officer. The new appointment to CEO comes shortly after Dhivya Suryadevara was named CEO of Optum Insight in May.
Ms. Suryadevara also served as CEO of Optum Financial, which provides financing and payment services. It is unclear if she is still with the company.
“As Optum Insight continues its journey of introducing innovative, technology-enabled solutions to both payers and providers, Sandeep Dadlani is uniquely qualified to lead this business into its next evolutionary chapter,” a UnitedHealth spokesperson told Becker’s. “His expertise in tech-enabled product development and using AI-first approaches will help accelerate growth in a business that continues to have huge potential to deliver tremendous value to the overall health care system.”
UnitedHealth has gone through several senior leadership changes this year, including former CEO Andrew Witty being replaced with former CEO Stephen Hemsley in May. In June, Amar Desai, MD, was replaced as CEO of Optum Health by Patrick Conway, MD, who also serves as CEO of Optum.
Tim Noel is CEO of UnitedHealthcare and Jon Mahrt is CEO of Optum Rx.
