Open-Source C2 Platform AdaptixC2 Released With Enhanced Stability, Performance, and Speed

Open-Source C2 Platform AdaptixC2 Released With Enhanced Stability, Performance, and Speed

The Adaptix Framework team has announced a significant update to AdaptixC2, an open-source post-exploitation and adversarial emulation platform designed for penetration testers.

The latest version introduces significant improvements to network tunneling, the user interface, and overall system performance. One of the most notable upgrades focuses on network tunnel capabilities.

The SOCKS4 and SOCKS5 protocols have been completely reworked on both client and server sides, delivering substantial improvements in stability, performance, and speed.

The tunnels are now RFC-compliant, enabling port scanning through tunnels. Additionally, SOCKS5 tunnels now support IPv6 connectivity on both client and TeamServer components.

The platform’s session graph has undergone a complete redesign, with new icons and support for a Top-to-Bottom layout.

Sessions operating tunnels are now clearly marked as TunS (tunnel via TeamServer) or TunC (tunnel via client), while inactive and terminated sessions no longer clutter the display.

Users can quickly access session consoles by middle-clicking. AdaptixC2 now features a Remote Shell with interactive, non-PTY capabilities, complementing the enhanced Remote Terminal, which operates in SSH-like mode.

Multiple terminals can be created within a single Remote Terminal tab, improving workflow efficiency.

The user experience has been significantly enhanced through improvements to the dialog window and a new profile system with automatic background saving.

The authorization form now requires users to specify a project directory, streamlining file system operations. Two new themes, Adaptix Dark and Adaptix Light, provide visual customization options.

Performance optimizations include asynchronous client-server interactions and asynchronous AxScript execution when UI elements are not in use.

Text batching prevents UI freezes by flushing data every 100 milliseconds or 64 kilobytes, with a database size management limit of 10 megabytes.

According to the Adaptix Framework team, additional improvements include an enhanced Listener Manager and updated Sessions table features with creation timestamps.

Improved Credentials Manager with template support for tools like impacket and netexec, and advanced search functionality across all tables supporting conditional operators.

The Extension-Kit has been expanded with new BOF modules, including LDAP-BOF, DCSync-BOF, and nbtscan, further extending the platform’s capabilities for security professionals.
