The model was invented in conjunction with Zero Trust expert Jason Garbis of Numberline Security and applies Zero Trust guidelines to backup and recovery as a Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Zero Trust Maturity Model extension. Distinct resilience zones separate backup systems and storage tiers to reduce attack targets and contain potential impact from breaches.
