The US National Security Agency (NSA) has confirmed it purchases internet browsing records from data brokers, according to Senator Ron Wyden. In a letter to the Director of National Intelligence, Wyden criticised the practice and called for intelligence agencies to only buy data obtained lawfully. In response, the NSA said it does not buy or use location data from phones used in the US without a court order.
