Russian state-backed threat operation, Cloud Atlas, has deployed attacks using a new VBCloud malware, aimed at theft of data from dozens of users, mainly in Russia. The malware gathers system metadata, disk information and different document formats. Cloud Atlas uses a multi-stage infection chain with the ultimate aim of data theft from victim’s devices, according to a Kaspersky report.
