Healthcare organisations topped the list of entities likely to report a data breach in 2023 in Australia, according to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). Of 409 data breaches reported in H1 2023, 70% resulted from malicious or criminal attacks, and 26% stemmed from human error. OAIC emphasised the need for organisations to strengthen their cyber defences and timely reporting.
