Kentucky-based Norton Healthcare has revealed that a ransomware attack in May led to the exposure of personal data of patients, employees, and dependents. The unauthorized individuals did not access the hospital’s medical records or MyChart system, but they had access to names, Social Security numbers, contact information, health information, insurance details, and medical IDs. This breach, claimed by the ALPHV (BlackCat) gang, is part of a series of ransomware attacks on US healthcare institutions.
