North Korean Hackers Steal $53 Million in Cryptocurrency From CoinEx

North Korean hackers are believed to have stolen approximately $53 million in digital currencies from the CoinEx exchange due to a leaked private key. The incident was discovered on September 12th when unexpected withdrawals occurred from “hot wallets”. CoinEx reacted by moving any remaining assets to “cold storage” (offline), halting all transactions, and shutting down the compromised server. It is now rebuilding its wallet system.
