North Korea Targets Crypto Professionals With New Malware in Hiring Scams

North Korean hackers are exploiting fake job interviews to deploy a new Python-based malware, PylangGhost, primarily targeting Indian cryptocurrency and blockchain professionals. The malware steals data from 80+ browser extensions and allows for persistent remote access. Hackers posing as recruiters from Coinbase and Uniswap trick victims into running malicious commands. The scheme, linked to the North Korean-affiliated hacking group “Famous Chollima”, is part of the country’s broader crypto-focused cybercrime.
