North Korean state-sponsored hackers, known as APT37, are targeting Southeast Asian countries with a malware campaign intended to create backdoors into crucial systems, according to cybersecurity firm Securonix. Named “Shrouded Sleep”, Cambodia seems to be the primary target of this campaign, offering the hackers full access to compromised machines and data exfiltration functionalities. The attackers are patient, using long sleep times between each stage of the attack to avoid detection.
