NHS trusts’ data ‘stolen’ in cyberattack which ‘could leak sensitive patient records’

Two NHS trusts in the UK have had data stolen in a cyberattack. Hackers exploited vulnerabilities in the Ivanti Endpoint Manager Mobile software to access information including staff phone numbers, authentication tokens, and technical data. While NHS England is monitoring the situation and says that patient data is yet to be confirmed as compromised, there are potential implications for patient safety and the wider healthcare system. Experts at EclecticIQ suggest the cyberattack’s victims could include agencies and businesses across multiple countries. Ivanti has reportedly fixed the exploited software vulnerability.
