NHS trusts break ‘patient dignity’ rule more than 50,000 times | UK | News

NHS trusts in England have broken a rule, aimed at stopping men and women from being treated on the same ward, almost 50,000 times throughout last year, according to new data. This is more than twice the breaches in the previous year, marking a significant increase due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Penalties for such breaches were dismissed in April 2021, but critics argue that compromising patient dignity and privacy is unacceptable.
