NHS stands by as GPs force elderly patients to book online

About one in six family doctor practices in the UK are accused of violating contracts by requiring all appointments to be booked online, according to a poll by elderly advocacy group Silver Voices. The group has called on NHS England to crack down on these breaches, which it says disadvantage older patients. NHS officials suggest that patients could lodge complaints at local levels but offered no plan to enforce appointment-booking rules.
