NHS Scotland confirms ransomware attackers leaked patients’ data

NHS Dumfries and Galloway, part of NHS Scotland, confirmed that a ransomware group accessed a “significant amount of data”, including patient and staff details. The attackers, identified as INC Ransom, claimed to have compromised three terabytes of data and released sensitive documents as proof, demanding ransom in return for not publicising this data. While the investigation continues, NHS Dumfries and Galloway reassured patients that their records have not been tampered with.
