NHS Dumfries and Galloway data stolen in cyber attack published on dark web

A ransomware group has released a large volume of NHS Dumfries and Galloway patients’ data on the dark web, after threats were made in March to publish such information if a ransom was not paid. The health board’s new CEO, Julie White, has called this an “utterly abhorrent criminal act” and assured that they are working with the Scottish government, police, and national cybersecurity to address the situation.
